RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE SCHOOL

The school aims not only to promote academic excellence but also develop the character of the students. In this regard the school intends to inculcate qualities of honesty, loyalty, responsibility, sincerity and obedience in the students in order to prepare them for ideal citizens of the country. Hence, students are expected to follow the rules and regulations of the school and conduct themselves in a disciplined manner.

General Rules

  • Students should always be in proper school uniform during school hours and other school functions, unless they are instructed otherwise. Gho and kira should be worn properly and decently.
  • Punctuality for all school activities such as assembly, classes, games, SUPW, class competition, etc. is a must.
  • Students should take proper care of all school properties including the classroom furniture, electrical fittings and others. Anybody found indulging in any form of vandalism will be dealt according to the School Discipline policy.
  • Smoking, consuming alcohol, chewing tobacco and doma, gambling etc., are prohibited and anyone found indulging in these substances will be considered a very serious offence and will be dealt accordingly.
  • Possession of any item, which could be used as weapon, like chains, knives, knuckles etc. is strictly prohibited in the school.
  • Students are expected to maintain proper decorum and therefore, incivility of behaviors like cacophony and hooliganism in the school premises is discouraged.
  • Students should be polite and courteous to teachers and elders at all times. They must have respect for themselves and others.
  • No student should be involved in forming groups and meeting among themselves. Forming groups for ulterior motives would be considered as ganging up and therefore, be viewed as a serious offence.
  • Once in school campus, students will have to compulsorily speak either in English or Dzongkha.
  • To be eligible for appearing the terminal examination, a minimum of 90 percent attendance is required
  • Students must not cheat in the examinations. Cheating in the examinations is a serious offence which will lead to the cancellation of the paper/exams.
  • Students are not permitted to bring electronic gadget to the school.
  • The use of MOBILE PHONES by students in the school is banned and if ever found will be confiscated.
  • Graffiti is a serious offence and is liable for disciplinary sanctions as appropriate.
  • Students are not permitted to wear fancy lockets, hair bands, earrings, and ear-studs (boys), use make-up, wear nail polish and keep long nails. Students must keep their hair short and proportionately cut without side locks and bleaching. Girls with long hair should be tied neatly at the back with red hair band.
  • Students are not allowed to go out of the school campus during the school hours. Anyone requiring to leave the campus must seek permission from Teacher on Duty (ToD) and the class teacher.
  • Students are required to bring pack lunch to school and eat healthy food compulsorily within the school campus
  • The school does not encourage out campus picnics and if undertaken are at one’s own risks. The school also does not take any responsibility in the event of any mishap resulting out of campus picnics.
  • Substance abuse, forgery, impersonation, molestation, sexual harassment, bullying, vandalism are offences of criminal in nature and are therefore, liable for punishment as per the Penal Code of Bhutan. The occurrence of such offences will be reported to the nearest police station.
  • All disciplinary issues will be dealt by the Concerned Subject Teacher/Class Teacher/TOD/SMT

 

Attendance:

Regular school attendance is considered one of the key factors in academic success. We encourage our students to attend school every day. Class teachers and subject teachers will monitor and record student absences.

Only concerned parents or guardian must seek the leave either through written or phone call. Avoid unnecessary leave to avoid future attendance shortage.

LEAVE PROCEDURE

Short Leave

Short leave for emergency can be granted by the concerned class teacher or teacher on duty, but leave should not be more than 3 days. If it exceeds, then they need to inform Principal.

Long leave

Any leave exceeding three days is considered to be long leave. Such type of leave shall be sanctioned by the Principal. Parents/guardian will accompany the student either at the time of leave processing or at the time of student’s reporting to the school.

 

Medical Leave

A student can avail medical leave but he or she has to submit Medical Certificate/Medical Prescription if it exceeds more than 3 days. A prescription has to be submitted to concerned class teacher if the child has undergone treatment.

 

Emergency Leave

Students leaving the school during the school hours for few hours can do so. However, a parent/guardian have to meet the Teacher on Duty or the Principal to get the approval.

Students leaving school campus on their own for any work must fill up the out-pass form. Leaving school campus during school hours is not allowed unless it is urgent

 

Official Leave

A student is granted official leave as and when he or she has to participate in any type of functions, competitions or games in the name of the school. Such type of leave will be marked present after informing the concern class teacher and subject teachers by the concern authority.

Visiting Hospital

Students are advised not to come to school if they are already sick at home. They can visit hospital directly from home. Student falling sick during class hours will be assessed by the health in-charge and provide necessary first aid. Parents will be informed about the seriousness of their child and in emergency, school management will escort the child to the hospital informing to their concern parents.

Students who need to visit hospital while in the school must do so through the Health In-Charge, Teachers on Duty, Class Teacher, and the Principal. Fill up the Out-Pass form and produce the same when asked outside school campus.

The names of the students visiting hospital should be reflected in a register maintained by the Health In- Charge

Hospital visit duration and mobile numbers of the parents/guardians should be reflected in the register, without which the student cannot visit hospital.

All hospital visits will have to be done in close consultation with the parents/guardians.

For all hospital visits, health book is a must and therefore, it is mandatory to maintain one health book.
